Interview

Getting information 1:1

Description

During interviews there is most of the time one person interviewing someone else.

Compared to surveys which is a more of a quantitative approach the interview can be considered qualitative research as the detailed information matters more than statistical evaluation and calculations. With an interview session UX Researchers will usually try and get detailed insight into specific topics and are looking for tiny pieces of information.

Therefore open questions are important and closed questions (like "Yes/No"-Questions) should be avoided as the interview participant should continue speaking at all times.

Survey

Surveys have the goal to ask as many people as possible a certain amount of questions.
